1954 Gottlieb Jockey Club pinball machine
Building Location: Marv_W2
Game Type = EM

Horse racing was a popular game theme during the 1950s. So the 1954 Gottlieb Jockey Club fit this theme nicely. And at 1150 units produced, it was a pretty popular woodrail pinball. this is another "double award" game. These models, pretty much all from 1954, allowed the player to put a second nickel into the game to turn on the "double award" option. Hence any replays won would be doubled. It was mixing gambling with skill pinball. Not like that hasn't ever been done before, but a lot of people seem to like this double award option. Gottlieb only did this on about eight woodrails in 1954, and then dropped the idea.

This is the actual game at the VFW Pinball Museum. Any questions regardling this game, or any games for sale, please email the VFW Pinball Museum at
